This and That.

We've had a lot going on since my last post. I'll try to be brief.

After another round in the sound booth we were told that Jet doesn't have a hearing loss. So after years of inconsitent hearing tests we will be headed to Oklahoma City in September to have an ABR. This test should have been ordered at birth and would have been very simple; however, now that he is 3.5 it is considered an operation and he will go under general anesthesia.
Jet is also scheduled to go under general anesthesia in September to have several fillings done. Because of his Developmental Delay it would be impossible to have fillings done in the dentist office.
And what I am most worried about.... Jet has been having milk and other drinks come out of his nose. This was one of the warning signs that they gave us that would indicate that his palate wasn't long enough. We will meet with his Oral Surgeon in September. I am extremely nervous about this appointment and would appreciate all the prayers that you can throw our way.
So needless to say we will be going back and forth to Oklahoma City a lot in September.

This mama is getting very anxious about what the future holds for my sweet boy. I have seasons of worry and anxiety for Jet. I'm in one, just in case you're wondering. Trying not to get lost in the sea of "what-ifs."

With all that being said we really did enjoy our last few weeks of Summer. My two boys are in school now and our busy busy school days have begun. Here are a few pictures that capture our last couple of weeks. Hope you enjoy them. And in spite of my anxious heart, I really am Confident of His Goodness.

Just in case you didn't know, I don't dress my children unless necessary in the summer time.

Sam Noble Museum. Will loves being the Big Brother. He takes a lot of pride in that role.

When Will grows up he wants to be a "Dinosaur Hunter" or a paleontologist. He knows the difference: Dinosaur Hunters kill dinosaurs and a paleontologist digs for bones. So here is getting a little practice at paleontology.

 Will's First Day of Kindergarten.

(Sorry it's sideways.) Jet's First Day of 3-year-old PreK.

  2. Hi~ I am so glad to see an update! I am unable to keep up with all the happening's at church and since we have been gone nearly all summer, I hadn't heard.
My favorite verse that got me through Don's ordeal- Be still and know that I am God...
Whenever I would get anxious about what was happening to him, If I would see him alive again, etc. God would send that verse running through my head. I found great comfort in it and decided that there was NOTHING I could do to control the situation so I might as well just give up trying and give it all to God to handle. Love you and your sweet little family. They are getting so big! Well, the kids anyway!
